Optimization of Methane Hydrates Formation Kinetics
Gas hydrate synthesis is a safe and compact solution for energy storage, but slow formation kinetics are limiting its large-scale application.
Using green promoters such as H-SSZ-13, L-tryptophan and a new reactor design, this study delivers very convincing results with improved methane capture and faster clathrate hydrate formation.
Illustration created for the article Driving sustainable energy storage: A multi-scale investigation of methane hydrate formation with green promoters and innovative reactor design, by ENSICAEN researchers Ahmed Omran, Nikolay Nesterenko and Valentin Valtchev, published in Journal Energy Storage.
